INTRODUCTORY MESSAGE BY KAY A ADESOLA, THE PRESIDENT, ANPMP ON THE OCCASION OF GARDEN CITY 2026.
Distinguished colleagues, respected elders, partners, and friends of the Association of Nigerian Private Medical Practitioners (ANPMP),
It is with great pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility that I warmly invite you to Garden City 2026, the 2026 edition of our Annual General Meeting and International Scientific Conference, scheduled to hold from 20th to 26th April, 2026.
Judging by the preparation already in place, Garden City 2026, promises to be a landmark gathering in the life of our Association. Coming on the heels of the very successful Abeokuta conference—which recorded very large turnout by members, spouses and other participants plus notable international participation, including the presence of a Russian company—this edition is poised to be even more impactful in scope, content, and global relevance. We therefore expect, and indeed encourage, a strong national and international turnout.
Importantly, 2026 is also an election year for the Association, making this conference a defining moment for collective reflection, democratic participation, and the shaping of the future leadership and direction of ANPMP. I therefore urge members from all parts of the country to attend in large numbers and to fully participate in both the scientific and governance activities of the meeting.
As is our valued tradition, members are encouraged to attend with their spouses, who will once again have the opportunity to run dedicated sessions tailored to their interests and contributions. These sessions have continued to enrich our conferences and strengthen the social fabric of our Association.
We are equally honoured that Garden City 2026 will be graced by eminent personalities and national leaders, including His Excellency, Dr. Peter Odili, DMP, KSJ, GSSRS, CON, former Governor of Rivers State who will deliver the Andem Ewa lecture, as well as Ministers, Commissioners, Royal fathers and other distinguished guests from within and outside the health sector with Chief Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, DMP, NPoM, DSSRS, OON, as the Keynote Speaker. Their presence underscores the growing relevance of ANPMP and the critical role of private medical practitioners in national development.
On behalf of the National Executive Council and the entire ANPMP family, I warmly welcome all participants and look forward to a week of rich scientific exchange, fruitful deliberations, renewed friendships, and memorable experiences in the Garden City.
Let us come together to learn, to decide, to network, and to strengthen our Association.
You are welcome to Garden City 2026.
Kay A Adesola,
ANPMP President.
